Happy Holidays with Taste and Balance

🌟🍽️💖The holidays are a special time, when family and friends gather around the table to celebrate together. However, we must not give up balance and moderation in the rush for festive goodies. Here's how you can maintain your health and at the same time enjoy exceptional tastes during Christmas and New Year's meals.

1. Plan Carefully and Carefully

A savory journey through the holidays begins with careful meal planning. Imagine each day's menu with a smile on your face and be creative in including healthy treats like colorful fruits, lean proteins and fresh vegetables. Thus, you can turn these moments into an unforgettable culinary experience, avoiding impulsive food choices.

2. Moderate Portions

In the midst of the holidays, tempting treats can be a temptation hard to resist. Try to treat everything in moderation, slowly savoring each taste instead of rushing to fill your plate. Smaller portions not only keep the caloric balance, but invite you to fully enjoy the culinary variety, without the feeling of overload.

3. Listen to your Body

An important aspect of moderation in eating is to listen to your body. Don't ignore his satiety signals and don't feel compelled to eat until you're full just because you have to. Let your body tell you when it's full and when it's time to stop.

Try not to rush when you eat, as it takes about 20 minutes for signals from the brain to tell the body that the feeling of satiety has set in. Choose your vegetables first, and last but not least, don't feel obligated to eat every dish. There must be breaks between the dishes of the menu, so that the stomach can digest at its own pace.

The culinary habits of Romanians are based on an increased consumption of products of animal origin, and during the winter holidays there will be plenty of products from this category on our tables. That is why, for proper digestion, it is recommended to combine traditional Romanian products with vegetables and salads. It is preferable to start by eating first the vegetables and the salad, then the meat and its derivatives. Examples of foods rich in antioxidants that can be included in the holiday diet include arugula, broccoli, rapini, Brussels sprouts, cabbage (all varieties), cauliflower, horseradish, kale, collards, radishes, turnips.

4. Make Healthy Choices

Replace or adapt traditional recipes to make them healthier. Use less processed ingredients, opt for healthier cooking methods (steaming, grilling or baking) and avoid excess fat and sugar.

5. Don't forget about hydration

Remember to drink enough water, especially when you're indulging in high-salt and high-fat treats. Water is your secret ally to maintain balance and give you a feeling of satiety.

6. Alcohol, only in moderation

During the holidays, toasts with friends and family always add to the joy. To keep the atmosphere full of cheer, choose lighter drinks and enjoy them in moderation. Dry wines or low-alcohol drinks can be delicious and more figure-friendly options. Don't forget to fill your glass with water to maintain balance and enjoy the magic of the holidays in full moderation.

Do not forget to exercise before or after the festive meal. A walk in the open air or a dance session to festive rhythms not only burn calories, but also bring you an extra dose of energy and joy. The holidays become a culinary journey where joy and moderation guide us step by step towards a balance between indulgence and self-care. So, surrounded by loved ones, we load each table with love and precious moments. 🌟🍽️💖
