How do you get over spring fever?

Why does spring asthenia occur?

At the beginning of spring, we can face states of fatigue, lack of energy and weakness, manifestations associated with spring asthenia. These discomforts appear when our body adapts to the change of seasons. Factors such as frequent fluctuations in the weather, reduced physical activity during the winter, richer food typical of the cold season and gradual exposure to stronger natural light can influence our well-being. All of these cause hormonal changes in the body that can cause fatigue, exhaustion, mood swings, reduced ability to concentrate, headaches, physical discomfort, melancholy, lack of energy, memory loss, nervousness, insomnia, increased appetite for food unhealthy and weight-related problems. Usually, symptoms of spring asthenia persist for 10-20 days, during which the body adapts to seasonal changes.

What can you do to regain your energy and well-being?

If you are aware that you are facing such conditions, it is important to prepare ahead of time; adopt a balanced diet and make lifestyle changes:

Eat foods rich in iron, fiber and protein, such as lean meat, fish, eggs, dairy, avocado, broccoli, whole grains, lettuce, spinach, nettles, citrus fruits, grapes, apples, wheat germ, dark chocolate and ginger tea.

Avoid fatty or fried foods, but also those with high sugar content!

Follow a sleep schedule of at least 7-8 hours a night!

Do sports and exercise! You can opt for physical exercises at home or at the gym, but the most indicated during this period is outdoor exercise. Run, walk, bike or choose a sport you like. Try to exercise for 30 minutes a day and you will feel much better.
